After 1.5 months of omega-3 PUFA supplementation (Stage 2), the experimental group exhibited optimization-driven adjustments in several physiological systems. These changes included improvements in cardiovascular function, which facilitated a more optimal metabolic profile, normalization of carbohydrate-lipid metabolism, a significant reduction in the stress hormone cortisol, and a concurrent decrease in overall systemic inflammation, as evidenced by a reduction in the tension matrix of functional reserves. In contrast, the control group, which did not receive docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid supplementation, did not experience similar adaptations. Instead, maladaptive responses in carbohydrate metabolism, capillary blood flow, and cardiovascular function were observed, which were likely exacerbated by the critical seasonal transition, as ambient temperatures fluctuated around freezing.</p> <p>CONCLUSION: The findings of this study support the recommendation of omega-3 PUFA supplementation for northern residents as a mitigating factor against the adverse effects of seasonal climatic fluctuations.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Цель. </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>functional reserves</kwd><kwd>northern residents</kwd><kwd>omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids</kwd><kwd>optimization role</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>функциональные резервы</kwd><kwd>жители-северяне</kwd><kwd>полиненасыщенные жирные кислоты омега-3</kwd><kwd>оптимизационная роль</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="zh"><kwd>功能储备</kwd><kwd>北方居民</kwd><kwd>ω-3 多不饱和脂肪酸</kwd><kwd>优化作用</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Министерство науки и высшего образования Российской Федерации</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="zh">Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source><award-id>0225-2021-0001</award-id></award-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">ООО «ОМЕГА-СИ»</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">LLC "OMEGA-SI"</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="zh">LLC "OMEGA-SI"</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source></award-group></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Stark KD, Van Elswyk ME, Higgins MR, et al.
