This condition is not always met, requiring verification for each specific factual (epidemiological) material. However, there is a situation in logistic regression when the condition of its applicability is met automatically. For this to happen, the values of the predictor X in the groups Y = 0 and Y = 1 should have normal distribution with equal variances. In this paper, we investigate the shape of the relationship between the logit of the probability of Y = 1 and X for different variants of normally distributed X with equal and different variances at various ratios between the variances and mathematical expectations of normal distributions. The results of the calculations using the logistic regression method are compared with data observed for these variants, and it is shown what happens if the condition of logistic regression applicability is violated.</p>
Показаны результаты сравнения расчетов методом логистической регрессии с наблюдаемыми данными для этих вариантов, а также результаты при нарушении условия применимости логистической регрессии.</p></trans-abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="zh"><p/></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Logistic regression</kwd><kwd>normal distribution</kwd><kwd>regression models</kwd><kwd>conditions of applicability.</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Логистическая регрессия</kwd><kwd>нормальное распределение</kwd><kwd>регрессионные модели</kwd><kwd>условия применимости.</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Министерство образования и науки Российской Федерации</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source><award-id>FUMN-2024-0002</award-id></award-group></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Wooldridge JM.
