PECULIARITIES OF ADAPTATION OBSERVED IN YOUNG MALE RESIDENTS OF MAGADAN REGION: MORPHOFUNCTIONAL CHANGES (Report 1)

Sukhanova I.V., Maximov A.L., Vdovenko S.I.

Abstract

There were examined 1 656 young male residents of the Magadan region from among aborigines aged 17-21 y. o., migrants and Caucasoid natives of the Magadan region of the 1st 2nd generations in order to study their morphofunctional parameters. It has been found that among the modern population of the male aborigines and the Caucasoid natives residing under similar natural-climatic conditions, there were observed processes of convergence of some of their physiological parameters. Those processes allowed to consider the phenomenon as a certain stage of convergent adaptation. Moreover, the vector of the change indices’ focus among the migrants and different generations of the Caucasoid natives allows to state formation of a new population that is developing in the Northeast of Russia. We specify this new population as a population of rooted residents who have different functional indices as compared to those of aborigines or migrants.

PARAMETERS OF HEART RATE VARIABILITY IN FEMALE STUDENTS OF NORTHERN MEDICAL SCHOOL UNDER EXAM STRESS

Safonova V.R., Shalamova E.Y.

Abstract

There has been studied influence of examination stress on basic parameters of the heart rate variability (HRV) of female students of a northern medical school. 35 students took part in our study. We analyzed statistic and spectral parameters of HRV. Data was analyzed by using the computer software SPSS-17.0 taking into account normalcy of characteristic distribution. A complex analysis of the heart rate basic indexes has detected different contributions in regulation of cardiac activity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the autonomic nervous system in the students of the medical school. The tone of the sympathetic nervous system was high in conditions of comparative emotional rest in the female students. During the exams the number of the students with predominance of the parasympathetic tone of the ANS which provided a favorable option of anabolic metabolism was reduced. The psycho-emotional stress caused by the examinations led to significant variations of the heart function vegetative support and increased the sympathetic influence.

EXPERIENCE OF PREDICTING OF EXPECTED EXCESS MORTALITY DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE: A CASE STUDY IN ARKHANGELSK

Shaposhnikov D.A., Revich B.A., Meleshko V.P., Govorkova V.A., Pavlova T.V., Varakina Z.L.

Abstract

A quantitative forecast of expected changes in mortality due to global warming by year 2050 has been developed for the city of Arkhangelsk. The expected changes in the temperature regime for each calendar date were estimated by regionalization of an ensemble of atmosphere-ocean coupled general circulation models. The expected changes in frequency and duration of heat waves and cold spells between the periods 1980-1999 and 2040-2059 were also estimated. Modeling of the temperature-dependent mortality has shown that reduction in the winter mortality overweighed the summer increase. The overall effect will likely be beneficial for public health: total annual mortality will decrease by about 2 %.

MIGRATION OF 232Th and 226Ra IN SOILS OF ARKHANGELSK CITY: BASIC REGULARITIES

Kryauchyunas V.V., Shakhova E.V.

Abstract

The basic regularities of spatial migration of natural radionuclides 232Th and 262Ra in the soils of the Arkhangelsk city have been established. The main factors affecting spatial distribution of the natural radionuclides included a type of housing, a geological and geomorphological structure of the territory and a water regime of the soils.

EARLY POST-NATAL ADAPTATION OF CHILDREN BORN BY MOTHERS WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH CONNECTIVE TISSUE DYSPLASIA

Kildiyarova R.R., Uglova D.F.

Abstract

Early postnatal adaptation of children born by mothers with congenital heart defects associated with connective tissue dysplasia in comparison with almost healthy children was characterized by the worst results. We observed dysaptation of the cardiovascular system (28.6 %), possible defects of the central nervous system and physiological jaundice (95.2 %). In three children born by the women with congenital heart defects, a defect of the interatrial septum was suspected.

ADOLESCENTS’ NUTRITION AS A FACTOR OF HEALTH SAVING BEHAVIOR

Dyachkova M.G., Zaroslikova L.A., Mordovsky E.A.

Abstract

The article has focused on the peculiarities of staple food intake among teenagers and young people in the Arkhangelsk region. It has been found that a choice of products by the young people depends on their self-concept of the anthropometric data. Also, gender factors play a role in the methods of nutrition management. Understanding of the term “sensible nutrition” by the young people as a factor of healthy life depends mainly on their awareness and motivation.

FEATURES OF VERBAL DEVELOPMENT OF FIRST-GRADERS WITH DIFFERENT LEVEL OF SPEECH FORMATION

Sokolova L.V., Emelyanova T.V., Koposova T.S.

Abstract

The article has shown results of an experimental research of Arkhangelsk first-graders’ speech development. The schoolchildren with strong and insignificant general immaturity of speech were characterized by weak formation of all oral speech parameters. The connections between the structural components of the oral speech have been analyzed. The article has given reasons for the necessity of early speech development for children who start systematic training at school. These results are of interest for planning of correctional-developing lessons with schoolchildren with delays in speech development.

EPIDEMIOLOGY OF COMMUNITY-ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA IN ARKHANGELSK

Bedilo N.V., Vorobyova N.A., Ismaylova N.V., Veshchagina N.A.

Abstract

A retrospective analysis of 411 medical records of patients with diagnosed community-acquired pneumonia and treated in an in-patient department in 2010-201 1 has been carried out. Morbidity and mortality data in the Arkangelsk region have been also analyzed. It has been found that the incidence rate and hospital mortality in our region were at the national level and the mortality rate exceeded that. The patients with community-acquired pneumonia were predominantly persons older than 45 years. The proportion of severe community-acquired pneumonia in the hospital was 27 %. Chronic alcoholism accompanied 57 % of the severe pneumonia cases.

ENDOPROTHESIS REPLACEMENT OF HIP AND KNEE JOINTS: EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ASPECTS AND EFFECT ON QUALITY OF LIFE

Borisov D.B., Kirov M.Y.

Abstract

Total hip and knee replacements are effective surgical interventions which eliminate pain and improve functions in patients with end-stage degeneration of the hip or knee joints. In this article, we have considered epidemiology of hip and knee replacement, projects for demand of arthroplasties in the future, changes in health-related quality of life and factors that influence long-term results after surgery.
