STRONTIUM IN WATER-SUPPLY SOURCES OF ARKHANGELSK REGION AND ITS IMPACT ON HUMAN HEALTH

Polyakova E.V.

Abstract

On the territory of the Arkhangelsk region, many factors of negative impact on human health have been established. One of them was quality of consumed drinking water. In the water sources used for centralized water supply of some cities and district centers of the region, stable strontium is widely spread. Being a biologically active element, strontium influences human bone tissue. The relation of calcium to strontium in maintained waters can be considered as a sign of ecological trouble on the territory and can determine potential possibilities of manifestation of Kashin-Bek disease.

PHYSIOLOGICAL AND THERAPEUTIC ASPECTS OF EXTREME GENERAL AIR CRYOGENIC EFFECTS

Agadzhanyan N.A., Bykov A.T., Medalieva R.K.

Abstract

Literature data on specific influence of general air cryogenic effects on homeostasis parameters have been presented. Cold trainings raise general nonspecific resistance of a human body. Character of response adaptive shifts depends on initial functional state, including the psychoemotional sphere and the mode of cryogenic sessions. According to the literature data of Russian and European authors, extreme cryotherapy is a universal and effective technique of primary and secondary prevention of a wide range of diseases.

FUNCTIONAL STATE OF RESPIRATORY SYSTEM AND PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN PLAYING FLOORBALL

Klimberg E.E., Ishekova N.I.

Abstract

On the basis of a dynamic analysis of functional state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, it has been revealed that floorball training helped to improve functional reserves of schoolchildren as was evidenced by the higher rates of spirometry, their growth was bigger by the end of the school year and their physical performance increased during the dynamic studies. In the children with traditional forms of physical activity, the index of physical performance was progressively dynamic, but did not reach normal values.

SEASONAL CHANGES OF EXTERNAL RESPIRATION INDICES IN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN BORN IN ARKHANGELSK

Zavyalova A.A., Shcherbina F.A., Smolina V.S.

Abstract

During a year (in winter, spring, summer and autumn), a spirographic survey of one and the same group of healthy children (25 boys and 35 girls at intermediate school age born in the European North) was conducted. It has been detected that functionality capabilities of the external respiration system and the breathing level increased in children aged 11-14 y.o. in the transition period from the warm season to the cold season. The increased total lung ventilation in the girls in autumn was mostly explained by the increased respiratory volumes rather than by the respiration rate.

MALIGNANT TUMORS MORBIDITY AND ECOLOGICAL SITUATION IN SOME REGIONS OF REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

Abdihakimov A.N., Niyazmetov B.B., Madaminov A.Y., Daniyarova S.S., Alidjanov H.F.

Abstract

The purpose was to study features of distribution, dynamics of the usual and standardised indicators of oncological morbidity rate of the population of the Fergana Valley, to compare them with the data of the Republic Uzbekistan taking into account influence of climategeographical, industrial and nonindustrial factors of cancerogenesis. Initial material for the research was the data of the Uzbekistan State Statistical Committee and the organizational-methodical departments of the Andizhan, Namangan, Fergana and Tashkent regional oncological clinics from 1996 to 2007. In 1996, the standardised indicator of cancer morbidity of the male population of the Fergana Valley was 117.02 (female - 109.1). There is observed increased prevalence of a number of cancer nozological entities, in particular in the oil production regions - the mammary gland and esophagus cancer, in the cities with developed heavy engineering - the kidney and brain cancer.

CLINICAL-EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHLAMYDIAL AND MYCOPLASMAL INFECTIONS AS SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RISK FACTORS

Svetlichnaja T.G., Mosjagin I.G., Gubernitskaja S.V.

Abstract

The results of the analysis of foreign and domestic scientists’ studies in the sphere of reproductive and sexual health protection have been given in the article. The concept of sexual and reproductive health structure has been presented. The main reason of the negative tendency of acceleration of sexual and reproductive health deterioration pace observed in recent years was increasing STI/HIV incidence. There have been considered factors contributing to maintenance of high STI/HIV levels. Particular attention is paid to the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of contemporary clinical course of chlamydial and mycoplasmal infections which circulated widely in recent years.

HIV PREVENTION AND ITS ROLE IN CONTEXT OF HIV EPIDEMY PERSPECTIVE IN RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Smolskaya T.T.

Abstract

The article presents an overview of the existing publications and the author’s several studies focusing on the need in strengthening HIV prevention in Russia. Based on the official data, the author attempted to provide an analysis of three stages of the Russian HIV epidemy (1987-2010) in terms of incidence levels, predominant transmission routes, involvement of various populations in the epidemy and prevention activities. The author describes social prevention projects implemented by AIDS Centres in 73 administrative territories across Russia in 2008-2009. There is a clear absence of unified approaches, with primary prevention focused on the general population and multiple projects targeting specific vulnerable groups such as IDUs, prisoners, migrants and SWs. The key partners in the projects were NGOs and international organizations. Most prevention projects were aimed at awareness-raising and information work. Long-term monitoring of prevention effect was problematic due to short lifespan of most projects. The vast experience of working with target groups is combined with the positive attitude to social surveys. Financial shortages are the key factor restricting prevention activities. The final section of the article contains discussion of highly active combined prevention which incorporates behavioural, structural and biomedical interventions as well as HAART. This approach, promoted as a standard by the international community, should be incorporated in the Russian concept of HIV prevention.

COMPUTERISED SYSTEM OF TUBERCULOSIS MONITORING IN ARKHANGELSK REGION

Balantsev G.А., Perkhin D.V., Nikishova Е.I., Heldal Е., Maryandyshev А.О.

Abstract

In 2009 in the Arkhangelsk region, the computerized system of tuberculosis monitoring inIT-TB was developed and placed in operation. The system has a multi-level structure, Firebird 2 is used as a server of the database control system. Computers being part of the local computer network of the Arkhangelsk Regional Antituberculous Dispensary work with a client application for Win32. By way of the three-level web-module, the system is connected with the users of the Regional Hospital of the Federal Penitentiary Service and five offices of local phthisiologists. As of the 1 January 2011, the system database contained information about registration of all tuberculosis cases in the civilian sector on the territory of the region, the results of treatment and data on bacterial tests from 1 January 2007. The system allowed to improve efficiency of data exchange between the Antituberculosis Service units and to form statistical reporting on an operational basis.
