Abstract
This article highlights the main issues of health promotion of the working population in the Republic of Bashkortostan. It focuses on the baseline results of the Ufa Institute of Occupational Health and Human Ecology studying problems of occupational diseases prevention and health maintenance of the working population. We propose the ways of improving occupational safety and prevention of occupational diseases.

DEVELOPMENTAL SPECIFICITIES OF WORK-RELATED DISEASES IN PETROCHEMICAL WORKERS

Abstract
Based on indicators of relative risks (RR) and etiologic factors (EF), we assessed the rate of work-related chronic non-infectious diseases in workers. An increased rate of disorders of the vegetative nervous system, upper respiratory tract, musculoskeletal system, biliary dyskinesia, arterial hypertension with a high degree of work-relatedness has been revealed. Operative workers, gluers, operators, metalworkers have been shown to be at highest risks for the development of work-related pathology.

COMPLEX ASSESSMENT OF HEALTH RISKS FOR THE POPULATION EXPOSED TO HEAVY METALS IN THE AREAS AFFECTED BY ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

Abstract
We have assessed environmental pollution levels caused by heavy metals and performed zoning of the study regions according to their content. A special algorithm has been developed and applied. Using a hygienic principle evaluating the environmental impact, we have substantiated methodological approaches to heavy metals ranking according to the health hazards posed to the surrounding populations with diverse economic specialization.

MICROBIOLOGICAL RISK ASSESSMENT AMONG AGROINDUSTRIAL WORKERS

Abstract
Quantitative assessment of a total microbe number (TMN) in the work environment air at different agro-industrial enterprises has been done. Along with it, health examination of the enterprise workers has been simultaneously performed. It has been shown that with indoor TMN increasing there is an increase in prevalence of respiratory diseases among workers of corresponding facilities (r>0,8). To prognosticate respiratory diseases development, a microbiologic risk indicator (MR) was applied. The authors’ method allows making a reliable prognosis of respiratory diseases among workers exposed to a biological factor.

Abstract
The article considers the problem of health risk assessment of the population living in the region with developed oil refining and petrochemistry. In industrial cities where petrochemical plants and refineries are town-planning factorsr, the quality of the environment, especially ambient air and the population health state rank the first on the list of priorities for the maintenance of positive dynamics of socio-economic development. Analysis of long-term observations allows us to justify hygiene recommendations and management decisions, to identify priorities for improving air quality, to assess the effectiveness of preventive measures.

CHANGES IN METABOLIC PROCESSES AS A CHEMICAL HAZARD CRITERION

Abstract
The study of metabolic processes in petrochemical workers has been conducted. The most significant metabolic disorders in the form of an imbalance in the «lipid peroxidation-antioxidant defence» system, destabilization of cellular and organella membranes, a syndrome of endogenous intoxication have been detected in workers exposed to combined impact of a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons and oxides of olefins . The revealed metabolic disorders can be preconditions for the development of initial forms of occupational diseases in workers.

PREDICTING THE RISK FOR OCCUPATIONAL ALLERGIC SKIN DISEASES DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The aim of the work was to find new methods of predicting risks for occupational skin diseases development in workers of allegro hazardous enterprises. An integrated risk indicator (P) in a particular person is calculated by using the individual predictive map, taking into account the availability of gradations of each risk factor. The analysis of gene polymorphisms of cytokine network has been done. In the presence of the T allele polymorphic locus rs3939286 gene IL33 risk of allergic dermatitis was raised by 1.5 times (OR = 1,56). An increased risk of allergic rhinitis was determined by CT genotype and T allele polymorphic locus rs3939286 gene IL33 (OR = 1,35, OR = 1,45, respectively). The proposed methods allow assessing risks for occupational allergic skin diseases development with a high degree of reliability
